Plum Blossom / Pin Brooch
Details
The national flower of Taiwan is the plum blossom (梅花, méi huā). It symbolizes the resilience, perseverance, and strength of the Taiwanese people because of its ability to bloom in late winter, defying the cold. Plum blossoms emerge before the leaves, delicately heralding new seasons: their appearance announces renewal and the promise of fruit. In many cultures, the plum blossom is celebrated as a rite of passage between seasons—a small burst of hope that foreshadows the harvest.
